The correct treatment
1. Measure the copper. Specific tests exist. It is the step that decides everything else.
2. Do not shock the pool. With copper in solution, a shock precipitates it and stains.
3. Apply a metal sequestrant. It keeps the copper in solution so it does not precipitate. The same product used in well water with iron.
4. Bring the pH down to 7.2. Copper precipitates more readily at high pH.
5. Continuous filtration and backwashing. Part of the sequestered copper leaves through the filter.
6. If the level is high, dilute. Partial drain and refill.

Azeitão's Estates: Volume and Tourism
Two particularities of pools in this area.
